Joined Angolan football first league Girabola in 2015/2016 season when he signed with Angolan giants Petro Atletico
With his touch of class and pin point long passes, Carlinhos attracted interest from Laliga side Celta Vigo ????????
(in 2018/2019 season) but the then Petro coach Beto Bianchi advised the officials to turn down the offer making Carlinhos as his key player to compete in Africa the following season.
The following season (2019/2020), Beto Bianchi left Petro Atletico and the new coach marked Carlinhos as a surplus. The Spanish tactician didn't like Carlinhos soft style of play. With increased interest from Angolan side Interclube Luanda and Portuguese side Belenenses and Vitória SC, Carlinhos push for his way out of Petro and joined Interclub on a two year deal from 2019/2020 season.
August 2020, Carlinhos signed 6 months renewable deal with Tanzania giants Young Africa Sports Club a deal that many Angolan football lovers protested. To them, Carlinhos is a Europe bound player who should have played more in Girabola side as he wait for a deal to Europe. To them, signing with Yanga SC is like downgrade to his career.
