The Football Association of Zambia has partnered with seven United Kingdom universities to commence community leagues for women football.
The universities under the umbrella of the Wallace Group will coordinate community leagues for under-15 women football.
FAZ General Secretary Adrian Kashala, his deputy Joseph Chimpampwe and Technical Director Lyson Zulu met with the Wallace Group representatives who are Tim Garfield, a former Director of Sports at Loughborough University, Peter Warburton, a former Director of Sport at Durham University.
Loughborough University Vice Chancellor Bob Allison is also part of the architects of the cooperation.
The Volunteer Zambia Project coordinator Jack Preston was also part of the meeting at Football House.
The six universities comprise Loughborough, Bath, Stirling, St Andrews, Edinburgh, Durham and Cardiff.
FAZ will partner with the universities in coaching, refereeing and administration of football.
Wallace Group members will also provide support in human resource development.
FAZ has opened its doors towards football development partnerships with the University of Zambia and Nkrumah University among the tertiary institutions locally that has been roped in for coaching and informational exchanges.
The University of Zambia department of sports development recently partnered with FAZ offering Masters Degree students with a D licence course.
Graduates are expected to be involved in the countrywide FAZ grassroots program.a
